Local cats need you!

The COVID 19 pandemic has been hard on everyone, even our furry friends.  Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue, a 501 C3, was formed in 2006, its mission to serve eastern Sussex communities in managing cats and kitten communities, both domestic and feral.  With traditional fund raising efforts still not possible due to rising COVID concerns, we look to the community for help in providing donations to keep our mission alive.

Just Us is an all-volunteer organization that serves by performing a variety of functions: rescue, foster, trap, spay/neuter and return, host low cost shot clinics for both cats and dogs.  Volunteers also socialize kittens and feed feral colonies. Food and kitten formula are provided to foster caregivers if needed;  veterinarian visits are arranged if need be.   Just Us works with the Brandywine SPCA and other 501 C3 groups across Sussex County and with a no kill shelter in Maryland that helps us find homes for the many cats and kittens who find their way to Just Us.  

Since the pandemic Just Us has arranged for hundreds of spays/neuters, many of these were at no cost to the pet owner, colony caregiver and always at no cost to the foster family.   As a 501 C3 non-profit rescue group we rely on donations of all kinds including food, litter and bedding; right now we are most in need of monetary donations.  

This year we have observed an increase in feral cats and kitten numbers across eastern Sussex County.  In addition to financial help we need volunteers willing to trap community cats and kittens; traps and training will be provided.  Help with transporting traps to the Brandywine SPCA in Georgetown can be arranged.    

To help raise funds Just Us T-shirts are now available for purchase. They have the logo created by one of the founders of Just Us, Pat Riordan, emblazed on the left chest area; they are available for $20 each and 100% of proceeds go to Just Us.
