Become a Volunteer

Just Us is an all-volunteer organization and rely completely on donations. Nothing we do is possible without volunteers like you! Keep scrolling to meet our volunteers - the people who make it all possible - and learn how you can help too.

What do our volunteers do?

Help out with Bob’s Program on Wednesdays. We always need volunteers to help with:

  • the spay and neuter clinic

  • transportation of adoptable cats and kittens to the Last Chance Animal Rescue in Waldorf, MD

  • evaluation of incoming cats and kittens to meet our protocols for adoption

TNR

Trap, Neuter, and Release

Just Us is committed to managing the feline population of Sussex County. One tool is TNR, trap, neuter and release.  TNR is a method of managing free roaming cats, also known as feral and community cats, by trapping them, taking them to a veterinarian for spaying or neutering, and then returning them to their original location and colony where they will be cared for by colony feeders. In some cases non feral cats are trapped, these are also spayed/neutered, placed with a foster and later made available for adoption.

Traps and training will be provided. Trappers working with Just Us are independent contractors.
