Just Us Celebrates 20 years of helping cats, Oct. 29th at Baywood Clubhouse
Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue will celebrate its 20th birthday this November. Join us on October 29, 2026 for a fundraiser, celebrating twenty years of helping cats and kittens in Sussex County. After many successful years at 1776, we have a new home for our fundraiser at the Baywood Clubhouse on Route 24 in Millsboro. Happy hour with a cash bar begins at 4pm and will be followed by a buffet dinner. Basket auctions, raffle ticket sales and a 50/50 will start at 4pm; drawings will begin at 7pm. Just Us merchandise will be available for purchase. Reservations are $60 per person which includes dinner, appetizers, and dessert; call Sharon Robertson at (215) 767-0148 for reservations and payment.
This year’s raffle includes three different prizes. The first is a $1,000 Amazon gift card. The second is two tickets to a private luxury suite at the Linc in Philadelphia to see the Eagles play the Steelers, Sunday, November 22 at 4:25pm, with food and beverages provided, a $2,800 value. The third prize is a trip for two valued at $3,000, donated by Frank Echols and Where 2 Next? Travel. There are two trips to choose between, NYC by train with three nights in a 5-star hotel, tickets to a Broadway play, and hop-on-hop-off bus tickets – or – New Orleans by plane with three nights in a 5-star hotel, Swamp and Bayou tickets, and hop-on-hop-off bus tickets. Reservations must be made before November 1, 2027, blackout dates apply. Raffle tickets are $20 each and can be bought when you call Sharon Robertson for dinner reservations, or by calling Bob Harrison at 302-228-7387. You need not be present to win.
There is another raffle prize offered by our friends at the Farmhouse Pet Lodge in Georgetown: a week’s pet boarding, tickets for this prize are $5. You may buy these tickets at the Pet Lodge or through Judy Kane at 302-542-5507.
Just Us now has a website (JustUsCatsDE.org) and email address (JustUsCatsDE@gmail.com), and can now accommodate credit card donations and purchases. This capability will facilitate attending the fundraiser, donating and paying for services at our vaccine clinics.
Just Us low-cost vaccine clinics, conducted with the assistance of the Catnippers of Pot Nets, will continue throughout the year at the Lakeside Community Center in Pot Nets. The following dates, all Sundays, remaining for this year are: September 13th, October 11th, and November 8th. Call Judy Kane at 302-542-5507 for more information.
As we did last year, Just Us will be a sponsor at the Brandywine Valley SPCA Bark on the Boards event on October 17th on the Avenue in Rehoboth. This event is not only for dogs, but for cats too!
