Annual Just Us Fundraiser at 1776 Steakhouse - October 24, 2024

In the planning for months, Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue hosted a double fundraiser event on October 24 at the 1776 Steakhouse.  Complete with two dinner seatings, each with over 100 diners,  everyone enjoyed buying tickets for  baskets, raffles and the ever-popular 50/50.  Each seating saw a different array of baskets and gift cards, overseen by over 20 volunteers who kept the event on a tight schedule.  We were lucky to have Magic Jack Noel as the  MC.

At the end of the evening, we announced the winners or the raffle items, one of which was two tickets to a private box at the Linc in Philadelphia to watch the Eagles play the Commanders on Thursday night, November 14.  Facilitated by the Brandywine Valley SPCA, this was the largest prize offered, and the tickets, all 300, were sold in less than one month. 

Tom Holmes, a 1776 owner, was pleased with the evening as was Bob Harrison, president of Just Us.  It’s safe to say everyone had a good time and over $22,000 was raised to help Just Us support its many programs for cats and kittens.  This double event was the first time Just Us ran two events in one evening.  Without the support of the 1776 staff, BVSPCA and the many volunteer and committee members,  this could not have taken place.
